Speed up internet connection

step 1: Start > Run > type gpedit.msc (not available in winXP home version). A Group policy dialog appears.

step 2: In that dialog, expand the Local Computer Policy branch, in that expand the Administrative Templates branch and in that expand the Network branch.

step 3: Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" in left window. And in right window double click the "limit reservable bandwidth" setting.

step 4: On setting tab check the ENABLED item.

step 5: Where it says "Bandwidth limit %" change it to read 0 (ZERO).

step 6: Close gpedit.msc.

Effect is immediate on some systems, some need to re-boot.
